DirectoryIndex.missing(start, end)[source]#

Return the valid times a window needs that no usable file holds.

A window needs a valid time every step, from the one at or before start to the one at or after end, since HYSPLIT interpolates between the two around each time.

Parameters:

start (Any) – The window, earlier time first.
end (Any) – The window, earlier time first.

Returns:

Empty when every needed time is held.

Return type:

list[Timestamp]

Raises:

ValueError – If start is after end, or no file in the directory is usable.
