WrfAxis.to_height_agl(*, surface_pressure=None, temperature=None, pressure=None, hgts=None, terrain=None)

Height AGL [m] by hypsometric integration of pressure (PRES) from surface_pressure with temperature.

temperature and pressure hold the levels above the surface, on the last axis. As in HYSPLIT’s prfsig without a 2 m temperature, the ground temperature is the first level’s brought down adiabatically, T1 * eta1 ** -0.286 (PRFSFCT), with eta1 the first level above the surface. For HYSPLIT’s heights pass the virtual temperature; arlmet.z_agl() and arlmet.sample_points() also use T02M and the humidity.
