SigmaAxis.to_height_agl(*, surface_pressure=None, temperature=None, pressure=None, hgts=None, terrain=None)[source]#

Height AGL [m] by hypsometric integration from surface_pressure with temperature.

temperature covers every level, level 0 (the ground) included. pressure (the PRES field, the same shape) replaces the nominal sigma pressure when given, as in HYSPLIT’s prfsig; its level 0 is taken from surface_pressure. For HYSPLIT’s heights pass the virtual temperature, with the ground temperature (T02M) at level 0.
