Archive.paths_for_range(start, end)[source]#

Return deduplicated, sorted archive paths covering [start, end].

Each path is relative to the archive root and is the same on every mirror, e.g. "hrrr/2024/07/20240718_00-05_hrrr".

Handles backward trajectories (start > end) by normalizing to chronological order before scanning.

Parameters:

  • start (Timestamp | str) – Inclusive time range to cover. A time without a time zone is UTC; a time-zone-aware one is converted to UTC, so 2024-07-31 20:00 in Denver names the files of August 1, 02 UTC.

  • end (Timestamp | str) – Inclusive time range to cover. A time without a time zone is UTC; a time-zone-aware one is converted to UTC, so 2024-07-31 20:00 in Denver names the files of August 1, 02 UTC.

Returns:

Unique archive paths in chronological order.

Return type:

list[str]

Raises:

ValueError – If the range begins before the archive’s start_date.
