stilt.Trajectories#

class stilt.Trajectories(receptor: stilt.receptors.Receptor, params: stilt.config.params.STILTParams, met_files: list[pathlib.Path], data: pandas.DataFrame)[source]#

Particle trajectories from one HYSPLIT run.

data has one row per particle per output step. The columns are the variables in varsiwant (indx, time in minutes since release, long, lati, zagl, foot, …), plus datetime (UTC), xhgt (release height, for column and multipoint receptors), and foot_no_hnf_dilution when hnf_plume is set.

Trajectories normally come from a simulation (sim.trajectories) or a file (from_parquet()).

Parameters

receptorReceptor

Receptor the particles were released from.

paramsSTILTParams

Transport settings of the run.

met_fileslist of Path

Meteorology files the run used.

datapandas.DataFrame

Particle table.

Methods#

endpoints()

Return where each particle's trajectory ends.

footprint(config[, name, context])

Calculate a footprint from these particles.

from_parquet(path, *[, columns])

Read trajectories from a Parquet file written by to_parquet().

from_particles(particles, receptor, params, ...)

Build trajectories from HYSPLIT's particle output.

to_parquet(path)

Write the trajectories to a Parquet file.

Attributes#

plot

Plotting methods, such as traj.plot.map().
